Industrial Electronics Service

Providing Service and Parts for
Soft Suspension Dynamic Balancers with Analog Electronics
is our specialty.

This site contains service information for Two Plane Soft Suspension Horizontal D, ED, AD and SD Balancers with Analog Left-Right (LR), Nodaling (N) and Plane Separation (PS) electronics manufactured by Balance Technology, Inc. between 1969 and the late 1980's.

For information or service
on current Balance Technology, Inc. products
visit their Web Site.

Some of the setup, testing and calibration procedures. are applicable to ED, UD & UD/DL Balancers. Some procedures are applicable to Computer Retrofits (CRT) as well as other Balancer types BTI manufactured with analog electronics, including Single Plane Soft Vertical Rotating Balancers (VR) and Single Plane Soft Vertical Non-Rotating Balancers (VNR).

BTI manufactured Analog Electronics for their Balancers between 1969 and the late 1980's, using the latest State of the Art technology and components. Even though the basic Signal Processing Stages, integrators, filters, gain stages, meter amplifiers etc. changed very little, due to the rapid advancement in Electronics during that period, components and circuit configurations did change as new components and technology became available. Specific circuits can identified by Sub-Assembly Number, Schematic Number, and/or PCB Number.

Functional Testing and Operational Checks of the Electronic Systems and Controls, are in most cases, independent of the circuit configuration used and can be performed without removing the Console cover. However component level servicing will require the specific schematic and PCB component layout of the circuit used. A 22/44 pin PCB Card Extender is useful for PCB service. A few test can be performed with a VOM but most testing will require an DC coupled Oscillascope.

It is also be necessary to understand and adjust some mechanical systems in order to correctly Check and/or Setup the electronic circuits.

No attempt will be made to cover Customer Specific Modifications, made either at the time of manufacture or at a later time.

This site has information for Preventive Maintaince and Trouble Shooting both the machanial and electronisc systems.

e-mail request for information or service.
